Amsterdam has appointed six neighborhood caretakers who are responsible for a clean public space. Locals can call them on their cell if they spot a problem. It is a bit of a laughing matter on Twitter because Amsterdam already has 14020, a service desk and reporting issues to them hardly ever results in a quick response.
It is well know that even when an appointment is made to pick up large garbage like furniture, the garbage service is a no show. Stories of locals having to call several times and their garbage staying on the streets up to 2 weeks are all over the internet.
